(FOXNEWS) — It’s been three days since John Krasinski was asked to marry actress Emily Blunt. Now he has a special word of advice for anyone dating his famous wife.
Stanley Tucci told Ellen DeGeneres he was so proud to have met his co-star and he was giving Krasinski some advice, “Just be patient.”
When DeGeneres asked Tucci how they met, he responded, “She had a lamb chop and I had a glass of wine. Wait til you see the scene where she’s eating the lamb chop.”
Krasinski and Blunt are expecting their first child together in July. During Sunday’s “Today” show, Krasinski told Willie Geist that he can’t wait to “teach her how to be a kid. She’s the boss.”
Tucci has been married to actress Anne Hathaway for 17 years.
Shortly after Krasinski was announced as the new “Jack Ryan” film’s lead, both Chris Pine and Alec Baldwin were linked to the job. Baldwin, however, told “CBS This Morning” that he didn’t audition for the role.
“I think that’s based on audition quotes that were circulating and were said in a way that really doesn’t convey that. No, I never did an audition. They saw a few pictures and a couple of clips of me, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it didn’t start me down the road of being cast.”
Dot Marie Jones, who has replaced Keira Knightley in the film, told Vanity Fair that she didn’t know who Baldwin was when Baldwin approached her for the film.
“Honestly, I don’t know who Alec Baldwin is at all, which is kind of awesome, I don’t really know enough about them yet, I guess,” Jones said.
Baldwin’s company, Delevan, which has produced “Spy” and “Moneyball,” was originally planning to direct “Jack Ryan.” Paramount Pictures then hired Paramount Pictures.
The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh, a “very talented, lovely guy” who takes over the role of Jack Ryan from Pine, Jones added.
The “Jack Ryan” films are adapted from Tom Clancy’s series of novels that follow the CIA officer. The films star Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Pine, the current Tom Clancy’s third film, is set to be released in January.
