A 26-year-old man was charged with voyeurism and voyeurism causing bodily harm after allegedly being caught recording a female model using her cellphone through a wall in a New York City subway tunnel. His charges include voyeurism, criminal trespass, and possession of controlled substances. According to the New York Post, City Council Member Julissa Ferreras-Copeland called for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to investigate after the woman discovered the device and “found it without having to go through the change room and thinking it was going to be located under a blanket.” The model, Virginia Davis, discovered the hidden camera after she entered the change room on a Sunday afternoon. “This was the first time I stepped out to change for work and then I was looking through the mirror and it just threw me off balance,” Davis said.
“My first impression was, this could be somebody that would invade my privacy, probably somebody that has problems with them themselves, but this is just so out of the ordinary for this environment,” Davis added.
2/ That the NY metro area is viewed as a haven to nonconsensual recording is a grave insult to the city. There is no place for it, especially in a subway tunnel. — Julissa Ferreras-Copeland (@JulissaFerreras) September 29, 2018
