FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — After dropping a 13-3 decision at home to the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago, the New England Patriots made about a dozen roster moves to add players for training camp and their opener at Atlanta on Sept. 6.
Wide receiver Chad Hansen, an undrafted rookie free agent last season, and cornerback Terrence Floyd, who was cut last week, have switched teams after all. Hansen switched from the Seahawks to the Patriots after Seattle waived him with an injury designation. Hansen is expected to challenge for a third-string job behind Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon.
Defensive lineman Adam Butler and linebacker and special teams captain Harvey Langi joined the Patriots.
Butler signed a futures contract with the Patriots last week after he was released by the Cleveland Browns. Langi was a second-round draft pick out of BYU in 2016 and played collegiately at the University of Utah. He joins a linebacking corps that includes recently signed Quentin Gause, who played nine games for Atlanta last season and three for Pittsburgh last year.
Wide receiver Cody Hollister also made the move after being waived by Seattle.
The Patriots also waived running back Tyler Gaffney and former Baylor quarterback Seth Russell and signed defensive end Cameron Gordon, defensive tackle Mitch Unrein and linebacker Jason Jones to the practice squad. Gordon played the last three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
