Meghan Markle has told friends she felt “uncomfortable” while filming ‘Deal or No Deal’ and struggled to understand how viewers found her’relatable’.
The Duchess of Sussex has been forced to address claims that she felt judged and “objectified” while filming the popular game show on Saturday, in which the winning amount of £1.53 is automatically paid.
After admitting she felt a personal “struggle” during the game, Markle told friends she had felt “uncomfortable” and “a bit silly”, while admitting she had no idea she was being judged.
A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said Markle was “dealing with this in private, but she is dealing with it”.
The source said: “She feels she really is dealing with this in private, but she is dealing with it.
“Meghan is doing what she has to do, and she’s dealing with this in a private way, but Meghan is dealing with this very publically.”
Speaking on the Today programme on Sunday, Markle said her fellow game show contestant, the South African Prince Harry said it looked like she had a “wandering eye for fashion” while appearing on the program.
After admitting she had felt a “struggle” during her appearance, Markle said she had felt “a little silly” and “uncomfortable”.
And when asked if she was surprised her “look” attracted so much attention, Markle simply said: “Yes, I was.
“And I would say to people, it might be the camera, or it might be her hair. It’s weird.
“I think the whole thing is the fact that she was a woman in a man’s world who was not supposed to be there and ended up being there. That’s it.”
