Omicron Canada Inc. Signs Exclusive Global Services Agreement with the Province of Ontario

Toronto backtracks on return-to-office plans for city employees as Omicron spreads to other municipalities

Toronto, Canada–October 18, 2013: Omicron, a financial services firm and one of Canada’s largest payroll service providers, today announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with the province of Ontario to offer their services to the public sector in the province of Ontario. The province of Ontario will be the only province that will be a market partner with the company. The launch of the service is a component of the Government of Ontario’s announcement to make the business of government more competitive, by investing in technology and making it easier for employees to find, apply, and maintain good jobs.

“We are particularly excited about this program,” said Mike Wojcik, President and CEO of Omicron. “We are pleased to be working with the Government of Ontario to expand access to employment in the province when it comes to payroll services, and to make it easier for new employees to secure good jobs.”

The Government of Ontario has committed to an investment of $100 million in Omicron’s business, including the development of one of the world’s largest payroll data networks, providing employers with access to payroll data in a way never seen before. The Government of Ontario has also pledged $9.5 million in match funding.

The Government of Ontario is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Labourforce Development has entered into an exclusive global services agreement with Omicron Canada Inc.
